About This Brand

The first Architects of Time, who laid the Ebel company foundations on July 15, 1911, were a man and a woman, partners in life and in business. Settled in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Eugène Blum and Alice Lévy decided to seal their destinies in an entirely novel way. The name of the watchmaking firm they established symbolized its unique origins in the fusion of two outstanding personalities: EBEL – an acronym of the initials “Eugène Blum Et Lévy”. Ebel proved its watchmaking prowess early, winning its first wathmaking prize only three years after founding. For each Ebel watch, from the research and development stage and on through the entire production process, cutting-edge technology and outstanding know-how merge with visionary inspiration and constant innovation, all governed by the high quality standards inherent to The Architects of Time. Ebel remained a family controlled company until they were sold – eventually ending up as part of the Movado Group.
